Josh Barney is an educator, coach, and real estate professional. He earned a bachelor of science in foods and nutrition from San Diego State University, studied nutrition at Long Beach State, and earned a master of science in special education at National University. Josh Barney's academic background has supported work in both education and athletics.
Mr. Barney has taught special education and physical education while also coaching football at the high school and college levels. He coached at Helix High School, where he worked with players who went on to professional football careers, and later at Steel Canyon High School, where he contributed to the 2017 California state championship team. His coaching at Grossmont College included being part of the 2005 national championship. He was recognized with the Golden Apple Award for teacher of the year in 2017-2018.
Alongside his teaching and coaching, Mr. Barney has pursued a career in real estate with Coldwell Banker West, where he assisted clients with home buying and selling. In his personal life, he enjoys traveling to tropical locations, playing in cornhole tournaments, cooking, smoking food, and attending college football games.
